The locations and descriptions paint the picture of real places that are specific andīeautiful, yet mysterious and intriguing. The characters feel real as they are well developed and unique, but Definitely a good adventure, that draws upon The story is well writtenĪnd the plot is fun, curious, and well structured. The Inn Between is a fantastic, supernatural, and heartwarming mystery. All they have is each other as everything else is not what it seems. The girls are in a race against time to find out the mystery of this strange Inn and Kara’s missingįamily. The rooms and hallways are more than they seem, and there is something that lives under the floor! There are strange people in the hotel that are equally intriguing and creepy, Quinn and Kara are scared but areĭetermined to find them. Parents disappear within the hotel and later so does her brother. It may be an inn on a road in a Heroic Fantasy world, a Wild West saloon, a bar in a high-tech. It’s big and fancy and may be hiding some of its own secrets. The Inn Between the Worlds trope as used in popular culture. The Inn Between by Marina Cohen is a deliciously creepy horror story for middle-grade readers that is as smart as it is full of heart. It was inspired by du Maurier's 1930 stay at the real Jamaica Inn, which still exists as a pub in the middle of Bodmin Moor. It is a period piece set in Cornwall in 1820. It was later made into a film, also called Jamaica Inn, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. To the left, you will see the portals that lead into the different rooms of the Inn. Jamaica Inn is a novel by the English writer Daphne du Maurier, first published in 1936. Before you do, allow your humble host to explain the rules of the Inn.
